As part of the ongoing activities to widen the impact and adoption of OnTask, we have liaised with various stakeholders and introduced functionality to accommodate various use cases. Two of the most relevant ones are the possibility of using OnTask to upload personalized feedback in a Moodle assignment, and the support for localization.
Moodle:
The possibility of uploading files as assignment feedback in Moodle offers the possibility of using OnTask without the tool being fully integrated in the LMS. The procedure requires a few steps to download two important columns from the Moodle database, and then the merging of these columns in the OnTask workflow.
Once the personalized texts are created, they are packed in a ZIP file that when uploaded into an assignment, it distributes each file to the appropriate user.
Internationalization:
The second element is the support for internationalization. This reflects the truly global impact of the project. The dissemination activities have detected interest in the tool from all over the world. Several stakeholders suggested the addition of this feature to go ahead with institutional deployments. The version of the tool developed using the Django stack makes use of the integration of language detection with the localization functionality to provide this feature. Version B.3.2.0 supports initial localization for Spanish and Chinese.
